Salary Sacrifice to stop income advantages

The Federal Government has changed several income thresholds to include salary sacrificed benefits. This will reduce several income entitlements of taxpayers where possible benefits can be claimed through the family tax system, plus reduce possible tax deductions including superannuation that can be claimed.

Further, we urge you to read our "Federal Budget" newsletter that was sent to you recently to see how you may be affected by the budget changes.

Reduce Direct Costs and Save Money

In the current economic climate reducing your direct costs has never been more important.

With the impact of the Global Financial Crisis and increasing energy prices it makes sound financial sense to conduct an analysis of your energy expenditure. Our alliance partner Carbon Planet can conduct an Energy Audit of your operations to identify where cost savings could be achieved.

An Energy Audit identifies the sources of energy for a site, the amount of energy supplied, and what the energy is used for. It also identifies areas where savings can be made, recommends measures to be taken, and provides a statement of costs and potential savings.

Based on the Australian Energy Audit Standards AS/NZS 3598:2000 there is an initial requirement to provide 24 months of power consumption data. Our auditors will then conduct a site visit of your premises to examine lighting, heating ventilation and air conditioning, IT equipment and other sources of energy consumption. Using energy bills and the information gathered from the site visit Carbon Planet then conduct a detailed analysis of the data and provide a comprehensive report detailing consumption trends and areas where a business can reduce their direct energy costs.

The recommendations that the report provides detail the estimated annual dollar, power and carbon savings, the costs of implementation and the corresponding return on investment.
